Free Fall prevention classes

An urgent safety matter needs your attention!  The Maine Department of Labor and OSHA have identified "falls in construction" as a serious hazard in Maine. While this has always been a national issue, it is acute problem for the state's employers and workers.  In Maine in one year (2011)  we had 535 falls from heights resulted in lost time. Of those, 99% were from ladders.

Most of these incidents occur to small roofing contractors and residential builders. In order to help prevent such accidents, SafetyWorks! will offer several two hours classes at locations throughout the state.  These classes are voluntary and free and represent an excellent opportunity to learn how to reduce both injuries and costs.

In addition, a representative from OSHA will be present to answer any questions of a regulatory nature.

Description: Classroom instruction and demonstration on ladder use, inspection & fall protection. Also a demonstration of fall protection harnesses from height.
